With so many brands launching new products every month or so we tend to forget our trusty old brand – MAC. While I have a lot of products from MAC, I hardly own any of their eye shadows. I have 2 MAC eye shadows in those single pots that I barely use – bought randomly. I prefer eye shadow palettes as compared to single eye shadows. I just think they are easier to travel with. So recently I decided to take the plunge and make build my MAC eye shadow quad, which would consist of the 4 eye shadows that go with almost everything and perfect to create a number of different looks.
The first eye shadow I chose was Sable, which is a beautiful bronzey taupe. It looks perfect all over the lid or even paired with other eye shadows. Next I wanted one for the crease so I went for Folie. It is a matte brown. It looks quite dark in the pan but it isn’t too dark once blended. I think I can also make it work for a smokey eye look since I don’t like overly dark black smokey eye look. I then went for Cranberry. It is a deep burgundy pink. It isn’t as scary as it looks in the pan. It is such a beautiful color which can be used to apply all over the lid or maybe also to smudge below the water line. Next I ended up with Expensive Pink. I wanted to go for All That Glitters but instead got mixed up with the names and was in a hurry so ended up with this one. But it is an amazing color and it will go perfectly with Indian outfits too. It is a peachy pink with gold shimmer. It would look amazing pressed onto the center of the eyelids.
What I love about MAC eye shadows is that their wear time is pretty good. Also I like that you can build your own palette and choose the shadows you want unlike in already-built palettes. I have a few other palettes like the Naked 3, Naked Basics, Makeup Revolution etc. but there are quite a few shadows that I have never used from those palettes. Now I am planning to build my 15 eye shadow palette from MAC. Do let me know if you have any recommendations.
